Geen things I have done in the past year...
1. Joined a CSA for our summer vegetables. Unfortunately I couldn't get into one early in the season, so ours starts the week of 7/20. Thought it best to give a CSA a try during the my summer pregnancy.
2. Using prefolds for our 2nd child. I didn't start using cloth diapers with our daughter until she was 15mos. She is now 2.5. Now we are starting at birth.
3. Have had a community garden plot but wasn't sure how much I could get done this year being due in August. Got my tomatoes, cucumbers and squash planted recently...better late...

1. hang dry clothes in the warm weather
2.eliminate plastic bottles

- start using un-paper towels instead of paper towels (although we got a roll when we moved in to our new place. gonna see how long that lasts).

things i want to do....
eat more locally (hopefully i can cook more now since i'm close to work)
turn the TV off. i don't need it for back ground noise!
I compost with my Naturemill composter. And we still recycle even though it requires us driving the bins to a recycling dumpster miles from our home. We use compostable doggie poop bags. We wash clothes in cold, and dry in low heat to save energy. We also make sure to turn off lights when we leave a room to save energy.
I am a vegan which I believe is a very eco-friendly choice. And if and when we have little ones we will cloth diaper, and cloth wipe.
Recently, we:
1. started using cloth diapers
2. began cleaning with vinegar, baking soda, etc. around the house
We plan on:
1. trying to use our A/C less and make an effort to turn lights off when not in the room
2. starting a compost bin
Next 12 months - learn more/try composting
and cook more, eat out less
2 things I've done in the last 12 months are:
start composting and
switched to the Diva Cup instead of traditional tampons
(I've done more than 2, but these are my biggies)
2 things I want to do in the next 12 months:
Use my clothesline exclusively, and cut down our water consumption.
In the last 12 months, we have cloth diapered our daughter and we use cloth grocery bags.
My email is wildflower329 at hotmail dot com.
2 goals:
change over to all cloth napkins and kitchen towels,
upgrade all plastic food storage to glass/ceramic.
